Camp Sturtevant
Hike and Dance Weekend
We danced, we hiked, we hugged, and
enjoyed the wonderful music of Jump Fingers to the magical calls of Cis
Hinkle in the heavenly surroundings that is Camp Sturtevant. The
hike up Friday was through wisps of clouds, keeping the temperatures pleasant
and Mr. Sun off our heads. What a change from last year when the temperatures
approached the century mark, and we couldn't drink enough water. Food Fit
for Royalty was the norm, as Janet Berg designed meals and snacks to feed
a close knit group of 42 hungry dancers. And for the first time ever, we
were able to entice Chris into dancing -- not just Squares, but Contra
too! Blue skies prevailed for our hike out Sunday, arriving at the trail
head in time for several dancers to head to the Claremont dance. What a
splendid dance community we have! Thank you Rich Cageao, for continuing
to organize a truly unique weekend among all the dance weekends.
The following pages are for you-- participants
past, present, and future -- a fun place to perhaps reminisce, to see a
new photo contribution or two, and attempt to identify friends that you
know from the dance floor....
